Woman sentenced to death for murder of daughter-in-law, son as witness at trial. Mme Josephine Mory, wife of a hairdresser, was condemned to death at Douai, France, for the murder of her daughter-in-law, Mme Yvette Mory, formerly Godafroy. The son of the condemned woman had given evidence against her. The daughter-in-law, was strangled by Mme Mory and found hanging at her home in Rouen. Mme Mory, senior, is said to have been disappointed because her son did not marry a rich girl. Photo shows, Mme JosephineMory crying into a handkerchief as sentence was pronounced. 29 October 1937
