Lost war drum restored in London to reformed Inniskilling Fusiliers. Found by French peasant at the side of a road in France when the 2nd Battlalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers were engaging the Germans at La Cateau, a war stained drum was restored to representatives of the re-formed battlalion at the Royal United Services Institution in Whitehall, London. The Inniskillings, who were part of the 'Old Contemptible' fought at La Cateau in August 1914. After the war they were disbanded by the battlalion , but the battalion was recently reformed. They now carry the honour 'La Cateau' on their colours. The drum was hidden by the peasant and handed to him by a Canadian officer.
