Handspun and handwoven- an outpost of the past in London. The ancient crafts of spinning and weaving by hand linger on in London, where at the London School of Weaving, (Kensington) tapestries, tweeds, silk and wool are woven, and hand looms and other weaving equipment made and sent all over the world. The school was established in 1898, girls go there to learn spinning and weaving as a career and, in some cases, as a hobby. In the past, materials have been supplied to the late Queen Alexandra and the Czarina of Russia.
