Royal houses burned down in Willesden in the presence of Mayor and Fire Brigade. Arrive houses, condemned under a slum clearance scheme was deliberately set on fire in our Alpha Place North by the Willesden Fire Brigade. Paraffin and wood shavings were used to start the fire. The Mayor of Willesden, Alderman, H R Prothero, and his daughter, Miss Dilya Prothero (the Mayoress), were among those who watched the blaze. 4 May 1938
