Miss Margaret Eleanor McNair Scott, 25-year-old daughter of Dr RS McNair Scott of Kensington, is named as the bride-to-be on two separate application for wedding licences at Kensington register office. The reason for the unusual situation is that Mr Edmund Ronald Leach, 27-year-old and apologists of Finchley, applied for a licence to marry Miss Scott and a few hours later Miss Scott went to the same register office and applied for a licence to marry 34-year-old Mr Patrick Wyndham Murray-Threipland, a landowner Llanishen, Cardiff. Dr Scott made a statement in which he said that his daughter is going to marry Mr Murray on Monday. Mr Leach said that when he applied for the licence he was still hoping that Miss Scotland desired to marry him. All three have been close friends some years.
