Austrian Foreign Minister may succeed Schuschnigg , as Chancellor. Dr Guido Schmidt, who retained his post as Foreign Minister in the Cabinet reshuffle which followed the conversation between Hitler and Dr Schuschnigg, succeed Schuschnigg as Chancellor of Austria, according to reports in Vienna. Dr Schmidt, who is in the late 30s and is said to be pro-German, accompanied Dr Schuschnigg to Berchtesgarden for the meeting with Hitler.
