There are 300 British residents in Nanking and the men are remaining at the posts. 21 September 1937 [Japanese troops who have reached the outskirts of Nanking, have planted their banner on the Purple Mountain where the body off to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen, founder of the Chinese Republic, is buried.
