Crane with the wanderlust 'Young Stanley'plays truant. Seized by the the wanderlust at the age of four months, Young Stanley, the London zoo's baby Crane sees the chance to play truant when being transferred to his winter quarters, a warm corner in the pheasant house. Although his mother went quietly, Young Stanley flatties baby wings, afflicted speak at the keepers and escaped from their arms. But inexperience brought about his downfall. For he ran into the long grass off the North Bank and was easily caught by keeper Hopper. Photo shows, keeper Hopper, freeing Young Stanley from the long grass in which he was trapped. 26 September 1937
