600 men are digging a tunnel under busy North London streets for the new two-mile tube which will link the present tube terminus at Highgate with the London and North Eastern Railway at Finchley Station. It is estimated that the work will take 15 months and that the new tube will be finished near the end of 1938. There is to be only one station at Highgate.
