These pictures, the first ever made at the North Pole, were flown to Moscow and from there to London. The Soviet scientific expedition led by Professor Otto Schmidt has succeeded in establishing on an ice floe in the frozen wilderness from which valuable scientific information and regular weather reports are now being sent by radio for the first time in history.
