Max Schmeling, the German heavyweight, arriving at Croydon Aerodrome from Berlin to find out in London what is happening about his fight with Tommy Farr, the British Empire champion, alleged to have been fixed to take place in London in September. Schmeling was greeted by Mr Syd Hulls, who is claiming an injunction to restrain Farr from boxing publicly before the date of the contest between Schmeling and Farr. 9 July 1937
