The record-breaking plane ANT-25-1 in the air after the takeoff at Moscow. Three airmen Soviet Mikhall M. Gromov major A.B.Yumashev, and engineer S.A Danilin, who took off from the Shchelkovo Aerodrome near Moscow has landed near San Jacinto 70 miles east of Los Angeles after a flight over the North Pole to break the world's long distance record. The Russians flew 6625 miles in 61 hours seven minutes nearly 1000 miles better than the previous record set by Codos and Rossi. 15 July 1937
