Police Court for Basque children at North Stoneham - camp has its own police force. A "police court" with witnesses for the prosecution and the defence and procedure closely following normal court practice has been established at the Basque children's camp at North Stoneham, Hampshire. A police force has been recruited from the children themselves to deal with little misdemeanours among the boys and girls. When the offenders are discovered they are brought before the court. One of the Spanish officials at the camp acts as a magistrate, and he admonishes the boy and girl culprits found guilty. In bad cases the offenders are sentenced to terms of fatigue duty.
