Mussolini's chief enemy and his brother murdered in France. Political motives are believed to be responsible for the murder of Prof Carlo Rosselli, implacable enemy of Italian Fascism and Mussolini, and his brother, Sabatino (Nello), who were found dead at Couterne, in the Orne Department of France. Both had been killed either by shots or stiletto thrust through the neck. Some distance away was a car with bloodstained upholstery. A powerful bomb built into a condensed milk can was found on the back seat. It was apparently designed to destroy evidence of the crime, but had failed to explode. Photo shows, Nello Rosselli, the murdered brother of Carlo Rosselli. 12 June 1937
