Commissioner seizes attacker in Regent Street fight for ?0,000 jewels. Hearing shouts, Mr Herbert Garrett, a commissioner, ran to the assistance of Mr George Ballinger, traveller for a firm of jewellers, who were attacked by a man as he entered the premises of his firm in Regent Street. Mr Ballinger was knocked on the head and hit down a short flight of stairs while the jewellery was scattered over the street. Mr Garrett sees the attacker and handed him over to 15 other men when he went for a policeman. The man had, however, struggled free and ran away.
