Mr Walter Runciman in Washington . Talks with President and Mr Cordell Hull . Mr Walter Runciman , president of the Board of Trade , had long talks in Washington President Franklin D Roosevelt , Mr Cordell Hull , American Secretary of State , and other United States Cabinet ministers . Mr Runciman said afterwards that the conversations had embraced many topics of mutual interest to the two countries , and that much was accomplished in the way of better understanding of their respective problems . It is understood that neutrality and trade Treaty were among the subjects discussed .
