Four rescued from sinking yacht by liner in Mid Channel . Four people CaptainCyril Mertin R E stationed at Aldershot , Captain and Mrs Harry Macdonald of Newcastle , and Miss Lessie Brodie Strickland of Kensington were rescued from their auxiliary cutter Owl ( 8 1/2 tons ) in the Channel by the liner Voltaire , which was returning from a cruise .
