With 2,000,000 people , stretching over four miles , gathered to hear his speech , Chancellor Hitler spoke to the entire German people from the steps of the Berlin Museum on the Lustgarten in celebration of National Labour Day( May Day ) . The speech was reproduced through loudspeakers in Berlin and all over the Reich . Hitler denounced as liars those who say that Germany is preparing to invade Austria or Czechoslovakia .
