The Anglo Egyptian negotiations for the settlemet of outstanding questions between the two countries opened in Cairo in a very cordial atmosphere . The plenary session was held in the great hall of the Zaafarana palace on the outskirts of the city . Sir Miles Lampson , the British High Commisssioner , and Nahas Pasha , the leader of the Egyptian delegation and head of the extreme Nationalist Wafd party seemed to be on very friendly terms .
