Boy killed and boy and girl injured in shooting at fair . Nicholas Edwards , aged 11 , of North Kensington was killed , Miss Lilian Maud Clark , aged 18 , an attendant of Notting Hill and Alfred Edward Pope , age 13 , of North Kensington , were wounded in an accident at a shooting gallery at Wormwood Scrubs , Bank Holiday fair . Thousands of people crammed the ground when five shots rang out in a volley . Edwards was shot through the head . Miss Clark was injured in the cheek and Pope the ear . It is alleged that a repeating rifle was being reloaded pointing towards the crowd when it accidentally discharged .
