Pigeon speed Kings which look like aeroplanes , rare breed that can dive at 200 miles an hour . A rare breed of pigeon has been introduced to Britain by Mr P G Mourabas of Pinner . The birds , very few of which are to be seen in this country , are appropriately called Oriental Sharpshooters . When they are in the air , the birds bear a remarkable resemblance to a squadron of fighting aeroplane , soaring towards the clouds with astonishing speed . Their fast beating wings enable them to move 25 per cent quicker than a racing pigeon . These pigeons , however , have no homing instinct and are recalled by means of ' droopers ' . These are pigeons which fly straight from their hatches to the ground , and stay there . Immediately the ' droopers ' appear , the soaring sharpshooters make a dive for home , hurtling at 200 miles an hour . Some of the sharpshooters are capable of beating any any racing pigeon providing they are trained to find their way home .
