Avril , Princess Imeretinsky , younger sister of Mrs Elvira Barney , was married at the Caxton Hall register , Westminster , to Mr Hugh Nugent Leveson Gower , a cousin of the famous cricketer . She is the daughter of Sir John Mullens , and married Prince George Imeretinsky in 1925 , when she was sixteen . The marriage was dissolved in 1932 , and the princess was readmitted to British citizenship . Mr Hugh Leveson Gower was responsible for the escape of the last of the Turkish Sultan s when he was threatened with assasination , by smuggling him out of his palace to a disguised van .
