Exiled Patriarch of Assyrians in London . Mar Shimun , the young Patriarch of the Assyrians who has been exiled , is in London . He left his country when the British Government were asked to take him to a place of safety following the outbreak on the Iraq frontier and the alleged massacre of Assyrians . Mar Shimun , who received part of education at St Augustine ' s College , Canterbury , is the spiritual and temporalhead of a remarkable body of Assyrians , about 25 , 000 of whom are in Iraq .
