Nineteen year old girl from Ceylon passes bar examination . Not to be called till she is 21 . Miss Avabai Menta , a nineteen year old girl from Colombo , Ceylon has passed the examination for a call to the English Bar . She cannot be called until she is 21 . Miss Mehta was a brilliant scholar at the Maria Grey Training College , London and after she matriculated she read for the Bar in Lincoln ' s Inn . She will be the first woman barrister in Ceylon , although there are several in India .
