Greece . Daphni . Built in 1082-1105 . During the two centuries that the Crusaders and their descendants occupied Greece ( 1204 to about 1400 ) this church was one of the most important in the country . In it the Frankish Dukes of Athens were christened married and buried . Partially burned during the War of Liberation , a large part of the mosaics which adorned it were destroyed . Enough remain , however , to attract the attention of artists who visit the church , coming from all over the world for the purpose . 1933
