The grave of old aeroplanes . More than six thousand aeroplanes of all types , from the humble ' Moth ' to the great Schneider seaplanes , have met their end in the yards of the firm of Coley of Kingston , Surrey , where they have been reduced to scrap and various parts salvaged for use by motorists . Various instruments are reconditioned and some have found their place in cars belonging to famous motorists such as Sir Malcolm Campbell , Sir Henry Segrave and others . Propellers which have been taken from obsolete or smashed up planes being up in the yard at Kingston . Many of them are converted into barometers . 29 March 1932
