Freddy Dixon , the dare devil motorcyclist who provided the big thrills in the Ulster Tourist Trophy car race at Belfast , Ireland , crashed through the hedge and overturned at Quarry Corner as he was speeding round the track . He covered 175 miles in two hours in his Riley car . He and his mechanic Len Ainsley , were thrown out and the mechanic was injured in the face .
