Stamps marking the Olympic Winter Games For the occasion of the 9th Olympic Winter Games , to be hel in Innsbruck Tyrol , the Austrian post office will issue a special set of stamps . The Olympic inauguration festivity will take place on January 29th , 1964 at the monumental layout of the Berg Isel jumping hill before 60 , 000 spectators . The special set consists of 7 stamps , six of which are pictured here .
