Testing the Olympic Fire Technicians ( Lower Left ) are seen experimenting at the Wembley Stadium , London , with the beacon which will be used to keep the Olympic fire burning during the entire period of the Summer Olympics This beacon , when completed ,will be mounted in an ornamental column , and erected at the highest point of the Stadium . The Olympic fire will be fueled by buthane gas 16th June 1948
