Some of the Australian and New Zealand aspirants for Olympic swimming honours were in training at Nine Elms Baths , London . In the first week the Empire pool was used for the swimming , diving and water polo events , in the second week the pool was drained and a stage put over the basin so that the boxing events could be staged in the same arena 11th June 1948
