15 MAY 1964 Monument to murdered. This huge monument mausoleum, in red sandstone, was unveiled by Zenon Kliszko, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers Party, during a giant peace manifestation, 10th of May in Treblinka, the former Nazi camp in Poland Warsaw province. More than 30,000 persons, from Poland and overseas, participated in the meeting. It is estimated that some 800,000 victims from all over Europe died in the camp during the years 1940-43.
