Der Limburger Dom; nach seinem Schutzpatron St. Georg auch Georgsdom genannt; ist die Kathedralkirche des Bistums Limburg und thront oberhalb der Altstadt von Limburg an der Lahn neben der Burg Limburg. Die hohe Lage auf dem Kalkfelsen oberhalb der Lahn sorgt daf黵; dass der Dom weithin sichtbar ist. Der Bau gilt heute als eine der vollendetsten Sch鰌fungen sp鋞romanischer Baukunst. Daneben liegt das wegen seiner hohen Baukosten umstrittene Di鰖esane Zentrum Sankt Nikolaus im Bistum; die Residenz des Bischofs; f黵 das der ehemalige Bischof von Limburg; Franz-Peter Tebartz van Elst; mitverantwortlich gewesen sein soll. // Church building of the cathedral of Sankt Georg in Limburg an der Lahn in the state Hesse.
