Pierre de Courtenay or Peter II of Courtenay; Emperor of Constantinople; died 1219. He wears a helm; suit of chainmail; sleeveless tunic; and is mounted on a white horse. He holds the oriflamme and escutcheon with his blazon (coat of arms): three red roundels on a gold field with blue label. Handcoloured copperplate drawn and engraved by Leopold Massard from French Costumes from King Clovis to Our Days; Massard; Mifliez; Paris; 1834.
