German prisoners dig graves in the heat. 11th June 1944. Several barrage balloons are in the sky. This is the second temporary cemetery installed in 1944 on the cliff of Colleville-sur-Mer to the east of Ruque. This cemetery was a little west of the present cemetery; built several years later. The bodies were transferred starting 20 July 1944 from the first temporary cemetery at the foot of the cliff between Vierville and St. Lawrence. Normandy; France.
