After a thousand years; the sacred relic of Saint Barbara is returning to Orthodox hands;but only for a few days. The Roman Catholic Church decided to respond positively to the request of Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece; Once the sacred relic had been in Constantinopole before a thousand years ago. The earthly remains of Saint Barbara; which will be; from May 10; 2015 coming to Greece as part of the celebration of 80 years since the founding of Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece in 2016; and it will be hosted in Athens by the Sacred Shrine of Saint Barbara in the municipality of Agia Varvara; which has the name in honor of Saint Barbara.IN THE PHOTO -The casket was respectfully placed in the Church of Saint Barbara and hundreds of believers started to flock to the church forming long queues and waiting up to 5 hours in order to come close; kiss the casket; make the sign of cross and request for a miracle by the early Christian saint and martyr.
