Count Ludwig knocked backward from his horse during a joust; 16th century. He wears a helmet; buckler and armour cuisses; and his lance is broken. The buckler (shield) and caparison have silver decoration painted on a red field. The fall occurred in a joust with his brother Duke William IV of Bavaria from an illustration in his Turnierbuch (Tournament Book).
