The Moscow Maly Theatre in the mid-nineteenth century. Ostrovsky's comedy "Don't Seat Yourself in Another's Sledge" was first produced by the Moscow Maly Theatre on January 14,1853. This date marks the advent of the realistic trend on the Russian Stage. During many of them are on the repertory today which is why the Moscow Maly Theatre is also referred to as Ostrovsky House.
