Moscow State order of Lenin Conservatoire named after Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), the great Russian composer. It was opened in September 1866. Its founder, Nikolai Rubinshtein, one of the most prominent musicians of his time, enlisted the services of the outstanding figures of the Russian musical culture as instructors.
