Modest Mussorgsky (1835-1881). Photo shows, the first scientifically verified publication of Mussorgsky's principal works was effected only in Soviet years. the composer's operas, romances, songs and choir pieces, his symphonic and piano compositions are being constantly published in new editions. His creative heritage is studied by Soviet musicologists. In 1951 the feature film 'Mussorgsky' appeared on the screens of Soviet cinema thatres.
