Reception for Queen Victoria at Treport 2 September 1843 - In September 1843 Queen Victoria crossed the English Channel for the first time. Her destination was Tr廧ort in north-eastern France, where the Royal party was met by Louis-Philippe, King of the French. From there the Queen was taken by road to the Ch漮eau d'Eu, the King's country residence.
