Settling Day at Tattersalls. The yard behind the Corner was the scene twice a week of auctions. A separate activity was conducted in the Subscription Room, the demure door of which is visible. This was the home of the Ring, who took over the yard each Monday to settle. Some of the leading legs have their own tables under the arcade. The plump man being paid is "Crutch Robinson." 1838.
