Artist's Left Bank model Diane Lisnow poses for photographer Harold Chapman for him to experiment with the double-exposure technique developed by African American erotic photographer, Emil Cadoo. Harold Chapman described experimenting with "instant Surrealism with a Pentax". Sitting at the cafe table, he photographed Diane Lisnow and looked at whatever was nearby to make the double exposure. There was a button to press on the camera to wind the film back, which released the lock. The pictures were taken at the correct fraction of the exposure necessary to superimpose one on the other. Cafe Le Conti, rue de Buci, St-Germain-des-Pres, 6e arrondissement, Left Bank, Paris, France, 1963.
