Balcombe Viaduct which carries the London Brighton and South Coast railway line over the Ouse Valley. Two bricklayers, called John and Wayne, had the mammoth job of re-pointing patches of wear and tear round the 11 million bricks in the 37 arches of the Ouse Valley Viaduct, Balcombe, near Haywards Heath. The beautiful viaduct, designed by John Rastick and built in 1841 carries the London, Brighton South Coast Railway line between Brighton and London. I
