Picture by Roger Bamber : 27 March 2007 : A lone seagull stands on one of Dame Elizabeth Frink 's sculptured heads, "The Desert Quartet" outside the Montague Shopping Centre in Worthing, West Sussex. The sculptures commissioned in 1985, applied for Grade 1 listing by PSMA and the 20th Century society through English Heritage. Their owner Sir Humphrey Avon wants to remove them and organise a competition for a replacement. If sold on the International market, they would fetch a multi-million pound sum.
