English artist Anthony Benjamin (1931-2002) of the St Ives School standing by his artwork in Paris, late 1950s. He was noted for his abstract art. He was in Paris for a year (1958-59) on a French Government fellowship studying printmaking with S W Hayter at the world famous studio, Atelier 17. Whilst in Paris he lived in a room in the Beat Hotel at 9, rue Git-le-Coeur on the Left Bank, Paris 6, France.
