The Consolidated External Debt of Colombia 1896 gathered together a great number of previous debts dating from the early 19th century. Some of the early bonds went to pay for the war that resulted in Columbia breaking up in 1832 into three countries, the other two being Equador and Venezuela. Some of this money wasn't repaid until 100 years later, when this 1896 consolidated bond was finally redeemed.
