Cover of Argosy magazine in the May 1969, featuring the so-called innesota Iceman? the apparent corpse of a man-beast (Bigfoot-type creature) encased in ice, which was being shown around the USA as a carnival exhibit. Cryptozoologists Ivan T. Sanderson and Bernard Heuvelmans were alerted to its existence in autumn 1968 and went to Rollingstone, Minnesota, to view it. They believed the corpse to be genuine, but it was later suggested that they had been looking at a model: the truth of the matter remains unclear.
