King Doniert's Stone, near St. Cleer, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, consists of two pieces of a decorated 9th century cross. The inscription is believed to commemorate Durngath, King of Cornwall AD875. In 1999 there was some controversy regarding this site and others under the care of the English Heritage organisation. Members of a pressure group, the Revived Cornish Stannary Parliament, confiscated several signs bearing the English Heritage name. Since this action several of the smaller less profitable sites, this one included, have been transferred to the care of the Cornwall Heritage Trust, run by a bard of the Gorseth Kernow and chairman of the Cornish Trust, General Sir Richard Trant. 咄ortean / TopFoto
