This feast commemorates the real presence of Jesus Christ in the sacrament of the Eucharist . The Ouessant Island is one of the last places in France that celebrates this festival according to tradition . The people decorate the streets where will pass the procession ; with drawings realized with the help of fresh flowers . The priest of Ouessant carries and exposes the Blessed Sacrament to the public ; it is followed by some parishioners wear traditional banners .
