2013; China; Hong Kong; the regional flag of Hong Kong Administrative Region with special status of the People's Republic of China; has the graphics of a flower; Bauhinia blakeana at 5 white petals at the center of a red zone. The red color of the flag echoes that of the flag of the People's Republic of China. The flag of Hong Kong was adopted on 16 February 1990; and received the formal approval of the Preparatory Committee on 10 August 1996.
